Yep, I officially became a hunting widow today.  Wayne will be gone until next Sunday.  I’m not a huge fan of being in the house alone, especially for such a long time, but it does have a few perks.  Today, I made a glorious dinner menu for the week and went grocery shopping…. for only the stuff I like… for the dinners I wanted to make for the week.  Don’t get me wrong, Wayne is anything but a picky eater… and he’s usually a pretty good sport when it comes to trying new recipes… but there’s just something so great about filling the cart with stuff just for me!  No red meat, case of pop, loaf of bread, or other usual “Wayne food.”  I also meandered around the store for quite awhile and managed to find some clearanced black boots, a fleece zip-up, and cute cardigan.  It was all a nice distraction.  I made it back home and made a simple dinner consisting of a Hugh Jass salad and veggie burger.  Mmm mmm good!

Another crappily-lit picture... kinda looks like a strange smiley face...? You seein' it...?

In the mix:  Romaine, alfalfa sprouts, cilantro, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, green olives, light asian dressing.

The sammie:  MorningStar Asian burger on whole wheat sandwich thin with light french onion Laughing Cow Cheese wedge, BBQ, Miracle Whip, and sprouts.  Something about this combination was a little bit off.  Still completely edible… I’m thinking it was the cheese, though.
