Halloween! November 1, 2009

Halloween has always been my mom’s favorite holiday, hands down, no doubt about it.  She always goes all out with decorating, and her house is the house to go to.  I usually spend my Halloweens there eating good food, visiting with family and friends, and wrangling a few masked ghouls.  This year was no different.  I made Forked Eyeballs to go along with mom’s Apple Bites and Salty BonesAlong with a few other treats, the spread was pretty impressive!

Ouch, mah eye!

Apple Bites

Salty Bones... before addition of "blood sauce!"

Part 1 of the spread: Pumpkin cake, swarming with insects (courtesy of Auntie); Mini Monster Cookies; Celery and carrot "fingers" with dip (courtesy of Auntie); and Pumpkin-shaped Cheeseball with Apple Bites and crackers

Part 2 of the spread: Forked Eyeballs on display, Salty Bones, and Apple pieces dipped in white chocolate and nuts/sprinkles

Obviously, good times were had 🙂  Leave a comment if you want more details on the recipes and goodies, and see me on Facebook for pics of decorations, ghouls and more!
